Adventures On The High Hills
In our home we are huge fans of Jill Barklem's Brambly Hedge series. Most of us are familiar with her Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter books, but did you know that she wrote numerious others?
Wildfred is just too excited! He has been allowed to go with Mr Apple and his trusty team of mice on an adventure up into the High Hills to deliver winter blankets to the voles.
He is packing all the essentials, a rope, a whistle, food, firesticks, cooking pots, a groundsheet and blankets, a spoon, a water bottle and first-aid kit. He packs a speical bag for the gold that Sir Hogweed Horehound mentioned in his adventure book. Oh yes! This is going to be the best adventure yet!
Everything goes according to plan until Wilfred scrambles up the rock face and can't get down! Worse still, night is closing in and Mr Apple's bad leg is playing up. What will become of our intrepid adventurers?
This Skein of yarn captures the closing evening in a swirl of dark blues and deep browns - perfect for a moody project!
