We’ve had the paint pots out again! This time we have tackled the open-plan snug and conservatory.

We replaced all the beige walls with a lovely neutral grey colour called Vancouver from the B & Q GoodHome line. We plan on using this in all the ‘common’ areas of the house. We used the same blue, ‘Sapphire Salute’ from Dulux, that we used in the hallway on the chimney breast. It creates a little continuity and we have found the blue in tiles for the splashback behind the hob which again will tie the whole area in beautifully.

Of course, the rug that we had in this room was no longer in keeping with the look so I hopped onto Wayfair and found a lovely geometric rug to pull the room together beautifully…

I think that we will tackle the kitchen next which I think will take a little longer as there is cabinetry to paint around…very carefully…and we need to order the tiles which will take a little bit to arrive.

What I love about this colour scheme is that I can add splashes of seasonal colour with scatter cushions and throws. I can’t wait for the cooler months (not that I’m wishing summer away) hand have the woodstove burning adding to the coziness of this lovely room.
