Farewell Bakewell
Creative Year Crochet Knitting Yarn
It's been a week since our return from the Bakewell Wool Gathering. In that week I've been busy prepping for our last show of the season at Stitch Fest SW in Devon, managed to catch a horrible cold that went straight to my chest, and packed more boxes ahead of our move. So, this post is a little later than planned but I wanted to share our Bakewell Wool Gathering experience with you anyway. I was so grateful to have been able to take Under an English Sky Yarns to the Bakewell Wool Gathering this year for two reasons... 1....
Yarndale 2024
This year we attended Yarndale for the very first time and boy...was it ever something special! I thought it would be rather nice to share our weekend with you. We set off on Friday afternoon, a little later than we had planned because the cat decided that it was time to go walk-about and she absolutly refused to come inside. I knew that she wouldn't come inside for the neighbour who was going to check in on her over the weekend. We couldn't wait all afternoon, so I rang my daughter to see if she could come home for the...

A Knitting Triumph: The Aisling Shawl
I would love to have the time to knit up every single one of the yarns that I dye. Unfortunately, that is impossible, but I met the loveliest kindred spirit through my IG account and she is an incredibly talented test knitter. When she offered to knit up my yarns for me in exchange for yarn it was like the heavens had opened and sent me my very own yarn angel. So, I chose two patterns and yarn for each project and shipped them off to her. She dutifully sent me photos of the shawls progress while she worked on...
Plan to Visit a Yarn Show This Autumn
Autumn Craft Creative Year Knitting Yarn
The Autumn is set to be busy for Under An English Sky Yarns. As the temperatures dip and summer slips away, it is natural to reach for those hooks and needles and cast on something to keep us warm throughout the approaching winter.
So I am very pleased to announce our autumn knitting show calendar. If you fancy a trip to the peak district, or Yorkshire, then why not plan to spend a day at one of these shows. I would love to meet you in person!
